Fill The Spaces Where Loneliness Goes.

It seems to me that loneliness is ubiquitous these days. But there are degrees. We've all felt lonely at some time or another, but as a chronic state, it can make you feel downright blue.

There are increasing numbers of 'solo lifestylers', and I for one, have encountered my fair share of hours filled with my own company, which at times, have been peppered with loneliness.

What I have learned during this period of my life 'between relationships', is one incredibly powerful, and life changing lesson.... In the absence of something better, loneliness WILL fill all the spaces and gaps in your life, and the only way of dodging this, is to actively fill those spaces with the things that set your soul on fire.

All emotions are teachers. Our greatest kind. Even the most difficult ones ripen and become the wise sages that live in our soul. Loneliness has its place. It's a signifier that we have an imbalance somewhere. That our heart has unanswered calls, and our soul has unmet longings.

Loneliness is a siren calling out from the deepest parts of us, calling us home to attend to the neglected parts of self. Fill those spaces with what nourishes you, and when loneliness knocks, you simply won't be there. You'll be somewhere else, doing something better. Busy becoming so totally 'bliss-FULL', that loneliness has nowhere to roost.

Book those art classes, start that online singing course, buy those tarot cards, meditate, learn to speak Spanish, or practice making dumplings. Just grab life and fill those empty spaces, so when loneliness calls, you're having too much fun to hear it!

They say nature abhors a vacuum, so why not ask your heart what it needs to feel full. What things, people, places, hobbies and experiences it yearns for. I guarantee it's those very things that will flow into your inner spaces, fill every nook and cranny, turn on the lights, open the windows- and breathe new life into those forgotten places.

Don't fear loneliness though, as in truth we're never alone. We have so much extraordinary help from the upper realms. They're always there listening, comforting, supporting, and guiding, and you need only be still to hear them.

Yes, loneliness will return , but only as an emissary of your heart. A gentle reminder to keep topping up your inner spaces with kindle for your soul.
